Coolangatta is a fantastically fun town that has everything you need for a great holiday. You can spend your days relaxing on the beach, surfing, or exploring all the natural wonders that surround this amazing place. There are many great things to do in Coolangatta, Australia. Here are my top picks:
Visit the National Park of Mt
If you are visiting Coolangatta, Australia, it would be criminal not to visit the National Park of Mt. It is one of the oldest national parks in Australia and has a lot to offer visitors.
- The glow worm
The only place in the world where you can see singing worms is in the National Park of Mt. These little creatures are cool because they create their light using bioluminescence—that is, they produce their own form of light without any help from an external source like electricity or fireflies (which use chemical reactions rather than bioluminescence). Glow worms live inside large caves on Mount Warning, which makes them even more special because this particular cave is one of the few places where these creatures live naturally outside of New Zealand! Go check these little guys out while you’re there!
Koalas are adorable animals that you don’t often see roaming around cities like Sydney or Brisbane but luckily for us travelers who want to see some cute critters while in Coolangatta, there’s a zoo right next door! The zoo has koalas as well as other native Australian animals such as wallabies and dingoes (wild dog species).
Look at the stars
Stargazing is one of the best ways to fully appreciate the beauty and magic of Coolangatta. Looking up at this night sky, you can see the constellations, planets, nebulae, and galaxies shining above us in a way that is unique to this area. To look at these stars, simply find a place where there is no light pollution (such as street lights or headlights) and look up! If you’re traveling with friends or family members who don’t want to stare into space for hours on end (and who can blame them?), you can bring a blanket so everyone has something cozy to sit on while they’re at it. relaxing together under the night sky.
Take a cooking class
Coolangatta is a great place to relax and enjoy the beach. You can also take some cooking classes while you’re there, which will give you an excuse to make friends with other travelers. This is a great way to learn new skills and meet new people. Cooking classes are a great way to spend your time, whether you want to learn how to cook delicious meals or just want an excuse to spend more time with friends!
Swim with the whales
If you are looking for a unique experience, why not swim with the whales? The Whitsunday Islands are an amazing place to do this. You can also swim with dolphins and seals, turtles, sharks, and stingrays!
Climb the “glow worm tree”
Glow worms are a type of fungi that live in the roots of trees. They are found in New Zealand, Australia, and other parts of the world. Unlike insects that have six legs, glow worms have eight legs.
Glowworm trees can be seen at night when they glow softly like tiny lights on the branches of their host tree. This is because they are emitting light to attract their food source (small flies). These trees can reach up to 10 meters high!
He spends a day in the forest
You should spend a day in the forest. The forest is a large area of land with many trees and plants living there. You can do many things in the forest, but one thing you cannot do is ride your bike because it is illegal to ride bikes in the forest. To get to the forest, you have to take a bus from Coolangatta train station, which is located on Beaconsfield Parade at 3 pm sharp every Friday afternoon if you don’t miss it!
You can expect to see many animals when you arrive in the forest, including kangaroos and koalas (if they are not sleeping). There are also plenty of trees for shade so be sure to bring sunscreen before entering the nature playground!
Go four-wheel driving in Lamington National Park
If you are staying in Coolangatta and want to take a day trip, Lamington National Park is the perfect place to go. Just 2 hours away by car and there are over 100km of trails to explore.
Four wheel driving is a great way to see Lamington National Park while having fun at the same time! You can even stay overnight in one of their campsites if you want to make a weekend of it.
You can reach Lamington National Park by continuing south on the Nerang–Murwillumbah Road until you meet Corbett Parade, turn left onto Corbett Parade, then continue for about 10km.
